Muzeul Brailei

Vă invităm marţi, 4 noiembrie, ora 13, în spaţiul Galeriei „Gheorghe Naum”, la vernisajul expoziţiei de gravură a Asociaţiei Graficienilor din Turku, Finlanda.

Expoziţia reuneşte 15 artişti de vârste şi orientări diferite. Aceştia sunt Annette Almarsund, Annika Dahlsten, Yrjänä Ermala, Matti Helenius, Minna Jokela, Juha Joro, Ulla-Maja Kallinen, Marita Mikkonen, Marjatta Nuoreva, Veronika Ringbom, Marja Salonen, Nea Silavuori, Panu Thusberg, Tea Tikka şi Merja Ylitalo.

Cele 47 de lucrări, realizate în aproape toate tehnicile gravurii, acoperă un evantai larg de preocupări, potrivit înzestrării şi sensibilităţii fiecărui autor. Subiectele abordate variază de la compoziţii decorative cu o vagă tentă exotică la monumentale detalii anatomice, redate hiper-realist, şi de la scene urbane la peisaje de tundră. În unele cazuri, maniera de lucru împrumută ceva din acuitatea şi lapidaritatea stencils-urilor; în altele, profuziunea de detalii şi gustul pentru fantastic cheamă în minte stilistica ilustraţiilor din vechile cărţi de poveşti.

Asociaţia Graficienilor din Turku (Turun Taidegraafikot Ry.) a fost constituită în 1933, la iniţiativa unui grup de artişti locali. Animat de dorinţa de a susţine activitatea într-un domeniu mai puţin frecventat până atunci, grupul şi-a propus să cultive gustul pentru gravură în rândul publicului larg, organizând consecvent expoziţii, ateliere şi concursuri. Astăzi, după mai bine de opt decenii de activitate aproape neîntreruptă, Asociaţia este recunoscută drept una dintre cele mai longevive şi mai dinamice prezenţe de pe scena artistică finlandeză. Harta expoziţiilor sale internaţionale, foarte extinsă încă din primii ani de la înfiinţare, include, începând cu luna noiembrie a acestui an, şi oraşul nostru.

Vernisajul se va desfăşura în prezenţa E.S. Dna Ulla Väistö, Ambasadorul Finlandei în România.


You are cordially invited to attend the opening of the graphic art exhibition of the Turku Prinmakers Association, Finland. The opening will take place on Tuesday, the 4th of November, 1 p.m., at the „Gheorghe Naum” Gallery.

The exhibition brings together 15 artists of different ages, backgrounds, and aesthetic orientations. They are Annette Almarsund, Annika Dahlsten, Yrjänä Ermala, Matti Helenius, Minna Jokela, Juha Joro, Ulla-Maja Kallinen, Marita Mikkonen, Marjatta Nuoreva, Veronika Ringbom, Marja Salonen, Nea Silavuori, Panu Thusberg, Tea Tikka, and Merja Ylitalo.

The 47 works in the exhibition, featuring almost all printing techniques, cover a wide gamut of preoccupations, in accordance with each artist’s interests and sensibility. The subject matter varies widely, from decorative compositions with a slight exotic tint to hyper-realistically rendered anatomical details, and from busy urban scenes to forested landscapes. In some cases, the working technique borrows something from the acuity and visual brevity of street stencils, while in others the profusion of detail and a certain taste for the fantastic calls to mind the early style of fairy tale books illustrations.

Turku Printmakers Association (Turun Taidegraafikot Ry.) was founded in 1933, following the initiative of a local group of artists. Driven by the will to sustain activity in what was, up to that point, a less frequented artistic medium, the group sought to promote the taste for engraving towards a wider audience, by devising a steady program of exhibitions, workshops, and competitions. Today, after more than eight decades of virtually uninterrupted activity, the Association is widely recognised as one of the longest-standing and most dynamic presences on the Finnish art scene. The exhibition in Brăila marks another point on the very extensive chart of its international events.

The opening of the exhibition will take place in the presence of Her Excellency Ms. Ulla Väistö, the Ambassador of Finland in Romania.
